Since I was a little girl, I have always had a love for the ocean. The salt water on your skin...the sand in your toes. The beach makes me so happy. It is a place of raw beauty. It is a reminder of God's ability to truly create a masterpiece. I have been fortunate to live by the pacific ocean for most of my life. Others who have grown up landlocked really don't know the difference. When I went away for college...it was then when I truly appreciated the place where my parents decided to raise their children...and I am lucky enough to call it home. I have truly come to find out that you rediscover your love once you have it taken away for a while. it is at that point when you realize, you can never live without it.

Sunset photography has been a passion of mine for quite a while. In high school, I would try to be at a new beach just in time for sunset. I have way too many sunset photos to post, but these are some of my favorites. Most of my shots were taken before I owned a digital camera. With digital, it is so great to take as many shots without worrying if you are wasting any, or running out of film, for that matter. I never hesitate to get out my camera whenever the opportunity presents itself. I was inspired by a photographer in Laguna Beach, who had a collage of 365 consecutive sunset photos...from the entire year. Every single time the sun was setting that year, he was somewhere with his camera in hand. It made me think just how many different ways a camera can interpret a sunset. The possibilities are endless and the outcomes can be so diverse. I don't care if I get made fun of because I will be taking sunset pictures till the day I die. Some may say, it is repetitive or you can only have so many. I say, just take the time to watch it and soon you will realize...NO TWO SUNSETS ARE ALIKE!
